I wanted to make a present to myself, so i bought a usb webcam with a microphone build in.
Fedora Linux detected the webcam and it work fine from the first moment. The problem started when i left the webcam connected and the computer rebooted a few times. The system added the usb soundcard on the webcam as the default sound device, and it became device "0" and as a result the default device for input and output of sound in the system. This caused some of the players and mixers not play sound at all because they were trying to output sound on the webcam! So i was looking a whole day on the internet to find out how to make the internal soundcard of my computer to be the first and default soundcard on the system. |

This has been a life savior in many o cations. Many times I installed Linux on a client of mine as a computer technician, and after some time they needed windows :( in dual boot to play commercial games. An advice : If you want no trouble making a computer to dual boot Linux and windows then install first windows and then Linux, it will make your life easier, because windows is the only operating system (if you can call it that!) that is made to “believe” that it is the only one in the world and in your computer. |
